Northwestern Law Journal des Refusés

The Northwestern Law Journal des Refusés (NLJR)
(https://nljr.law.northwestern.edu/) is a student-operated journal for legal avant-garde. Inspired by the Paris Salon des Refusés (1863), which “introduced to the art world the democratic concept of a multi-style system subject to the review of the general jury of the public” (Albert Boime, The Salon des Refusés and the Evolution of Modern Art (1969)) we are a journal of law for the legal innovator.

NLJR publishes intellectually diverse and interdisciplinary articles with an eye towards accessibility. This objective manifests in equal part by publishing works that can be understood by the masses and providing guidance to readers for navigating more esoteric works. We publish one print issue of high-quality legal scholarship each spring, as well as online articles throughout the year that span a wide breadth of disciplines and schools of thought.
